EMF Utility Mapping & Locating
An electromagnetic pipe and cable locator, is used for tracing utility lines such as cables, Armoured OFC and metallic pipes, and clearing excavation and drilling locations. These utility locators consist of two main parts, a transmitter and a receiver. It can log the GPS location of the underground utility. It can detect metallic utility up to 10 meter depth in direct connection method.
GPR Ground Penetrating Radar
Ground Penetrating Radar signals can be used to detect both metallic and non metallic utility below the ground up to 3 meter depth from the surface. This subsurface tool is most effective when there is a large difference between the electromagnetic property of the target and surrounding material. GPR is often used to map Metal pipes, Plastic pipes, PVC/ PLB ducts, rebar, electric cables etc.
Earth Pit Checking
DescriptionEarth pit checking is done periodically to ensure the earth resistance is up to the mark, which is a very important parameter of safety. Earth pit testing includes the following two tests:- 1) Soil Resistivity Test:-This test is done to analyse the resistivity value of the soil. We can do artificial treatment of the soil if the resistivity found is too high. 2) Earthing Resistance Test-This test is mainly done to find the resistivity value of the soil after the earth electrode is installed. This test ensures the proper working of the earthing electrode.
Concrete / Slab Scanning
Before drilling or cutting into a slab it is very important to scan the slab to avoid any risk of damage from striking objects such as rebars, PVC ducts, Electric conduit, cables, water pipes etc. Drilling into slab can damage the electric cables which can lead to accidents and any damage of steel bar (rebars) can affect the strength of the construction.
